Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

FullPageSS is a browser extension for capturing, editing and organising webpage screenshots. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data. It is short because the extension collects very little.

The short version

Your screenshots never leave your device. They are stored locally in your browser and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We cannot see them.

On the free plan the extension makes no network requests at all. There is no account to create, no tracking and no advertising. The only request FullPageSS can make is a licence check, and only if you activate a Pro key.

Local processing

Capturing, stitching, editing, storing and exporting screenshots all happen inside your browser, on your computer. No part of that pipeline involves a server.

FullPageSS has no cloud storage in the current version. If optional cloud features are added later, they will be opt-in, clearly labelled, and this policy will be updated before they ship.

Information processed during a capture

To produce a screenshot you asked for, the extension temporarily reads the page you are capturing. That includes:

  • the visible content of the page
  • page dimensions and viewport size
  • the page title and URL
  • the current scroll position
  • the position of fixed and sticky elements, so they are not repeated in the image

This is used only to build the screenshot and its history entry. It is not transmitted anywhere.

What is stored on your device

  • Screenshots you capture, and their thumbnails
  • Screenshot details: page title, URL, domain, dimensions, file size and capture date
  • Your settings: format, filename pattern, theme and annotation defaults
  • A daily capture counter, used to apply the free plan limit
  • Your licence key and activation id, if you have activated Pro

All of it lives in your browser’s local storage. You can erase it at any time from Settings → Storage → Delete all screenshots, or by removing the extension.

What we receive

On the free plan: nothing. The extension makes no requests, so we have no server that hears from you and no way to identify you.

If you activate a Pro licence, activating and re-checking it sends a request to our licence server containing only your licence key, the activation id issued when you first activated, and an installation label made from your operating system name plus a random string. That request is forwarded to our payment provider to confirm the subscription is active.

No screenshot, page URL, page content or browsing information is ever included. A re-check happens at most once a day.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Creem, acting as merchant of record. Payment details are entered on Creem’s own checkout page. They never pass through the extension or this website, and we never see your card number. Creem’s handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Analytics

FullPageSS includes optional product analytics which is switched off by default. You can enable it in Settings → Privacy.

When enabled it records event names only — for example fullpage_capture_completed — with counts and durations. It is technically incapable of recording a URL or page title: the event type is a fixed list, and event properties accept only numbers and true/false values.

In the current version there is no analytics server. Events are written to a local buffer on your own device, which you can read and clear in Settings. Nothing is transmitted. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it ships.

What we never do

  • We never upload your screenshots
  • We never collect your browsing history or the pages you visit
  • We never read page content except at the moment you ask for a capture
  • We never sell or share data with data brokers or advertising networks
  • We never inject advertising or tracking scripts into pages you visit
  • We do not use your data to train machine-learning models

Chrome extension permissions

FullPageSS requests only the permissions required to do the job you asked for. In particular it uses activeTab, which grants access to a page only at the moment you invoke the extension, and it does not request access to all websites.

Every permission is explained individually on the extension permissions page.

Service providers

  • Cloudflare — hosts the licence validation server and processes the licence request described above
  • Creem — processes payments and issues licence keys
  • Vercel — hosts this website

None of them receives your screenshots, because your screenshots never leave your device.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we handle. Licence requests are sent over HTTPS, and payment credentials are held by our payment provider rather than by us.

We make no claim to hold any security certification, and no system is perfectly secure. The strongest protection here is structural: we do not hold your screenshots, so they cannot be exposed by a breach of ours.

Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it. On the free plan, screenshots older than 7 days are removed automatically to save space — favourited screenshots are never removed automatically. Pro keeps everything until you delete it.

You can delete all local data from Settings → Storage, or by uninstalling the extension. For billing records held by our payment provider, contact us and we will pass the request on.

Children

FullPageSS is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. As the extension collects no personal information from free-plan users, there is nothing collected to delete.

International users

FullPageSS is available worldwide, and the privacy laws that apply to you depend on where you live. Because screenshots and settings remain on your own device, most data-protection questions have the same answer everywhere: we do not hold it.

Chrome Web Store User Data Limited Use

FullPageSS’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information accessed through the browser is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features described to you. FullPageSS does not use this data for personalised advertising, does not sell it, does not use it for unrelated profiling, and does not use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — in particular if a future version uploads screenshots or transmits analytics — we will update this page and describe the change in the extension’s release notes before it takes effect.
